The UEFA champions league is back with a bang. The last two group qualifications start on Tuesday with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man city, Liverpool, PSG and many more come to clash with eyes on the price.

The biggest match this week will be between Liverpool versus Paris Saint Germain on Wednesday at the PARC Des Princes, France. Other matches include Lyon vs Man city, Barcelona take on PSV Eindohven, Real Madrid squares it with Roma in Spain and Manchester united meet their threat Valencia.

The UEFA Champions league is the most competitive sport in Europe with Real Madrid lifting the trophy three consecutive times. They are the all time most decorated club in terms of trophies.

Sports are one of the most interesting activities in the world. At least everyone takes part in this activity either as a fun or player .We have numerous sports in the country including football rugby, hockey , tennis and many others.

I managed to conduct a survey on a hundred people to choose the best sport in a list including football, rugby,basketball and tennis. In this survey, all respondents gave their ideal truth and I managed to attain the above data, with football having greatest support of 53 out of 100 responses , basketball 20 out of 100 responses, rugby 18 out of 100 responses and tennis 9 out of 100 responses totaling to 100.

From the above, it is evident that football have the largest fan base followed by basketball , rugby and tennis respectively. The survey however did not include each individual’s team that they enjoy watching.

Multimedia university is diversely known for its prowess in technological innovations and producing high standards media practitioners today. However, there is a lot more outside these walls of innovations and media, sports. It has become one of the main areas the institution focus on with numerous sports emerging and accelerating in the recent past including hockey, football, handball, wood ball and basketball among others. Basketball has become the most influential and prominent game in the institution amassing large crowds and new talents.

The basketball court is always active with people attempting free throws whenever they are not in classes. The court is located just besides the lady’s hostels who watch from the comfort of their rooms for the beautiful game. Basketball is widely cherished in the US with giants such as Golden State Warriors and Cleveland dominating in the past three years. And definitely when you talk about basketball, people first pictures Le Bron James or Steph Curry, the current enigmas of the game.

It is around 4.30 pm when a huge, dark skinned gentleman carrying two balls in the arm and in a pair of Jordan walks in the court, he is the coach. Players arrive and hastily change to their kits. They assemble to say a word of prayer and take a few laps, jogging and stretches. Both ladies and men train together under this man’s instruction.

“Let’s go, let’s go, come on guys we have been training on this since Monday and you are not showing me what I want to see,” exclaims coach in a rather harsh way suggesting how serious he is in what he undertakes. The players seem to have a good rapport with him. It is around 6.30 and everyone seems tired. They plead with the coach to continue the next day. Well, basketball is one of the fastest games that require a lot of energy and endurance which is gained from this hard training.

They give each other ‘hi fives’ giggle and change. The training session is over, they say a word of prayer again and part with joy for their various destinations.

Gor mahia mauled in supercup

Welcome to Krawnjewelz sports exclusive with your favorite host Denis Onyango. Well KPL champions Gor Mahia lost to Everton in a historic clash of sportpesa super cup at the Goodison Park on Tuesday. The match has stirred a lot of debates, with me is Kelvin, veteran striker and one of the best football analysts I’ve met.

Host: Welcome to our show Kelvin.

Kelvin: Thanks Denis, is an honor to be here.

Host: Let’s get straight to it, Gor Mahia, three consecutive KPL champs lost 4-0 to Everton, who finished 8^th last season. Do you think our football is a bit behind?

Kelvin: I watched the game pretty well. Everton is one of the top teams in England. They even beat arsenal in front of their own fans. Gor did not have their fans, so I think the boys did well. Remember one of their key players was missing due to passport issues.

Host: So you’re saying if Tuyisenge was present, the results could be different?

Kelvin: They have Mustafa, a good striker but there’s that key player who changes game. You can feel it even in Madrid when Ronaldo left for Juventus.

Host: Do you think the boys learnt something after the clash?

Kelvin: I saw the look on the boys faces and I think Everton will find it tough if they meet again. Kahata was phenomenal and despite the tactical difference, quality and ability, still their game play was great. But generally the boys did well.

Host: So if Everton come to Kasarani Gor will defeat them?

Kelvin: You can’t guarantee that in football, but with the fan base I think they can. You saw how they performed in Tanzania last year.

Leicester boss perish in plane crush

Leicester club owner Vichai Srivaddadhanaprabha was killed in a plane crush on Saturday evening minutes after leaving the King Power stadium to watch their match against West Ham.

He perished along four others, two believed to be his staff members, a pilot and another passenger.

Vichai brought the club from Central England in 2010 and went on to turn the soccer world by beating odds of 5000/1 to win the Premier League title in 2016, in what amounted to a sporting fairy tale. He is a father of four and the owner of duty free giant King Power International.

According to witness, the helicopter had barely cleared the top of the stadium before it started to spin. It then hit the ground and burst into flames. Various people including players and coaches have paid visit and passed their message of condolences to the family of the berrieved including Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichal, Jamie Vardy and former super star Riyadh Mahrez. “Its been difficult, the boss was very special to me, Is pent four and a half years there. He was such a good person and I am very, very sad. That’s why I put my hands in the sky for him,” Mahrez told sky sports.

The coroner for Leicester said no date for inquests had yet been set.

Neymar unhappy at PSG

The Brazilian star has been reportedly pushing for a move out of the club at the end of the summer with eyes on Real Madrid or return to Camp Nou.

Neymar joined Paris Saint German from Barcelona on a record transfer fee of 220 million British pounds in 2017, an outstanding record not yet broken.

However the 26-year old forward has come an agreement with PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi that will see him leave next summer according to Cardena SER. He has also been linked to a move to Real Madrid as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo who joined Juventus this season. The Los Blancos signed Mariano Diaz from Lyon to replace the legendary no 7 jersey left by Cristiano but has proved that he is not the perfect match with only one goal this season.

Despite his uncertainties over his future in Paris, Neymar has maintained his prolific form with 11 goals in League 1 and four goals in champions league, with seven assists.

He has however been upstaged so far this season by French’s wonder kid Kylian Mbappe, who has 10 goals in just seven appearance for PSG. The 19- year old has become the center of interest at the Parc des Princess and this may be the reason behind Neymar’s move.
